Chocolate
Fudge
Chocolate is derived from the cocoa bean, cultivated at least
since 200 BC. It has been worshipped by the Mayan people (and
my wife) and used as a form of money by the Aztec
civilization.
The Spanish nobles, in the 1500's, made it into a sweet drink
and some in the French court believed chocolate to be an
aphrodisiac.
In 1825 a Dutch chemist invented a press to combine cocoa
butter with sugar to make chocolate "candy". In
1876, a Swiss candy maker mixed chocolate liquor with
condensed milk and invented chocolate milk.
